- Matias Rojas scores screamer
- Inter Miami defeats CF Montreal 3-2
- Luis Suarez adds 11th of campaign
WHAT HAPPENED?
Rojas stepped up in thrilling fashion, drilling home the long-range effort into the top corner of the net. The goal brought the Herons back into the match, just minutes before the halftime whistle.
The goal was scored with Lionel Messi off the pitch after the Argentine received treatment – but due to new sporting rules – was not allowed back on for an allocated amount of time.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Herons began the match on a familiar note – poorly. They conceded twice in the first half to open the match, both instances with sloppy defending. However, Miami capitalized on momentum – for the second-straight game.
Luis Suarez followed up Rojas’ strike with an equalizer two minutes later, before the Paraguayan himself stepped up in the second half to assist the game-winner from Benjamin Cremaschi.
A 3-2 road win for Miami, the trio stepped up big on an off-night for Lionel Messi – who finished the match without a goal-contribution for the first time this season.
WHAT NEXT FOR MIAMI?
The Herons take on South Florida rivals Orlando City Wednesday evening in MLS action. They’ll look to pull the double on the Lions, after a 5-0 win in early March.
