WHAT HAPPENED?

Howard scored a brilliant goal in the TST 2024 seven-a-side tournament which prompted disbelief from fans and co-owners alike. Howard, usually spotted between the sticks for the Red Dragons, thumped home an effort that took Wrexham into the last 16. McElhenney then sent Howard a message after the game congratulating him on the effort.

WHAT HOWARD SAID

In an exclusive interview with GOAL, Howard revealed: “I heard from Rob last night – he sent me a text saying ‘I can’t believe you scored a goal,’ so hopefully he will text or call me again.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wrexham are taking part in the TST 2024 tournament in the United States this summer. The tournament includes current and former players alongside celebrities and has seen Wrexham reach the latter stages. Howard will be relishing the chance to add yet another goal to his tally in the tournament after notching two in two games.

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

The Red Dragons will return to League One for the first time since 2005 next season following promotion from League Two. Wrexham ensured back-to-back promotions as they went up in the automatic spots, behind league winners Stockport County.
