- Howard takes part in TST in North Carolina
- Goalkeeper speaks of pride
- Wrexham to play in League One after promotion
WHAT HAPPENED?
Howard was taking part in the TST tournmanet which features past and present players as well as celebrities in a seven-a-side tournament. The goalkeeper has even learned some skills from teammate Paul Mullin, it appears, as he rocketed in an effort to take the Red Dragons into the Round of 16. After his stunning effort, Howard spoke of his pride in representing Wrexham in the United States.
WHAT HOWARD SAID
Speaking exclusively to GOAL, Howard said: “It’s something that you never can take for granted. I absolutely love the interaction that we have with the American audience. Obviously, the documentary has been amazing for that and it’s opened our eyes to a whole new world, especially out in America.”
DID YOU KNOW?
Wrexham will be plying their trade in League One next season following promotion from League Two. The Red Dragons secured back-to-back promotions as they continued their rise under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and are growing their audience in America.
WHAT NEXT FOR HOWARD?
Despite his wondergoal, Howard will return between the sticks for the Red Dragons next season. Howard, deputy to Arthur Okonkwo for much of the previous campaign, will likely remain second-choice ‘keeper for Phil Parkinson’s side – Okonkwo has been linked with a permanent return to the Welsh club.
