- Tsygankov stars for Girona
- Arsenal eye move for Ukraine winger
- AC Milan also in the picture
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to AS, Arsenal and Milan have approached Girona about signing the Ukraine international. The report adds the 26-year-old, whose contract expires in 2027, has a £26 million ($33m) release clause.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
After falling short in their bid for a Premier League title for a second-straight season, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be looking to strengthen his squad to finally get over the line. Strength in depth is key and winger Tsygankov could be an excellent addition for the north London outfit.
DID YOU KNOW?
The former Dynamo Kyiv star, who joined Girona in January 2023 for a reported £4.25m (€5m/$5.4m), scored eight goals and bagged seven assists in 34 appearances for Girona this season. He has insisted he will not try to force the Spanish club to sell him this summer as he and his family are happy where they are.
WHAT NEXT?
While transfer negotiations are likely to continue behind the scenes, Tsygankov is gearing up to play for Ukraine at this summer’s European Championship in Germany later this month.
