WHAT HAPPENED?

The Lionesses legend was chosen to start for Sarina Wiegman’s side in their Euro 2025 qualifier against France. However, inside the first minute of the clash, Earps went down injured and held her hip in agony. She tried to play on but pulled up again and was subsequently subbed off for Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the opening few minutes of play at St. James’ Park, Earps winced as she received a pass from her backline and then promptly slumped to the ground. After receiving treatment on the pitch, the 31-year-old pushed on to try and continue but was in visible discomfort as tears flooded her face when she went down before going off.
