According to The Independent, United are keen to get Chalobah to replace the French defender. Chelsea are open to negotiating the sale of their central defender as part of their efforts to comply with profit and sustainability regulations by the end of June. They are reportedly seeking a transfer fee of approximately £25 million ($31m), a figure that should be within the reach of the Red Devils.

INEOS is aiming to improve the club’s player trading policies, which have previously led to a bloated squad with several fringe players. The focus is now on signing younger players, preferably under the age of 25, who have the potential for growth and fit into the club’s modern pressing demands. Chalobah, who turns 25 in July, fits the profile of the type of player United are looking to recruit as he has shown promise at Chelsea and has the potential to develop further under Ten Hag’s guidance.

Chalobah made 17 appearances for Chelsea after missing the first phase of the season with a thigh injury. However, if he makes the move to Old Trafford he will look to compete with Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez for a spot in the heart of defence.
