The Ligue 1 champions signed Ugarte for a whopping €60m (£52m/$64m) from Sporting CP ahead of the 2023-24 season. However, the Uruguayan has failed to live up to the expectations having appeared in 37 matches across all competitions, providing three assists.

Sporting director Luis Campos has included two high-profile names in the club’s shortlist of midfielders who could replace the 23-year-old.
