WHAT HAPPENED?

The 22-year-old midfielder spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at League One outfit Northampton Town, registering five goals and six assists. His experience at that level holds obvious appeal to the Red Dragons, as they prepare for life in the third tier.

Leonard has, however, also caught the eye of teams in the Championship – having landed Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season honours at Northampton. According to TEAMtalk, the former Scotland Under-21 international is interesting Hull City, Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle.

Leonard is due to rejoin the ranks at Brighton for pre-season training this summer, having first linked up with them in 2018. He has made just two senior appearances for the Seagulls, with two productive spells taken in at Northampton.
