The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer of 2025 and he himself said he is “closer to leaving than staying” after leading City to a record fourth-straight Premier League title. However, the Daily Mail claims City want to tie the 53-year-old to a new, long-term contract.

Since Guardiola’s arrival eight years ago, he has won 17 major trophies at the club, including the Champions League and six Premier League titles. If he were to leave, he would be an almost impossible act to follow, so keeping him for longer makes a huge amount of sense.
