WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Dragons are readying themselves for life in League One, having enjoyed back-to-back promotions, and have freed up space in their senior squad for 2024-25 by releasing eight players. Hollywood co-owners are now being charged with the task of making the funds available that allow those gaps to be filled.

WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Parkinson insists that no deals at SToK Racecourse are imminent, but he is putting recruitment groundwork in place. Wrexham’s boss has said when asked about getting more bodies on board: “There’s lots of options out there at the moment and we are just having chats with a few players and agents which is normal at this time of the year. Obviously with the play-offs and the Premier League season just finishing, there’s still a lot of retained lists to come out. I feel we are in a good place with the options which are emerging. Nothing is certainly imminent but hopefully by the start of the season we will have recruited some good players.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wrexham are being linked with a number of players – from Jamie Vardy to Josh Magennis – and Parkinson added on being at the centre of intense speculation: “Like I have said before, I don’t want to rule anyone in or anybody out. There will be no truth in it with some of the players we are going to be linked with and others there will be an element of truth.”

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Many are tipping Wrexham to piece together another top-six challenge next season, despite some calls for a year of consolidation in their meteoric rise, and the expectation is that more marquee signings will be completed in a bid to ensure that the Welsh club remain on upwards trajectory.
