- Allegri sacked by Juventus
- Second spell in charge ended
- Pogba issued message to manager
WHAT HAPPENED?
Allegri was sacked after his team’s Coppa Italia final victory against Atalanta due to his behaviour during and in the wake of the game. Allegri was sent off by the referee and lost his temper, and then went on a bizarre rant against a journalist.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Allegri’s second spell in charge of the Turin giants lasted three years and his departure prompted kind words from United States international Tim Weah, who said he is “forever in debt” to the manager, and Pogba has followed that message up with one of his own.
WHAT POGBA SAID
Pogba took to Instagram to show his support for the fired boss, posting a picture of the two together and writing “Grazie mister”.
WHAT NEXT?
Pogba, 31, is currently serving a four-year suspension from the game after he tested positive for a banned substance. However, the France international is taking an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and remains contracted to the Italian club until 2026.
