AC Milan star Pulisic was asked which players had a big impact on shaping his game, with the 25-year-old revealing some surprising answers. The winger chose Portugal icon Luis Figo, ex-Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney and compatriot Clint Dempsey, while Messi and Ronaldo did not make the cut.

When asked which three players have influenced his style of play, he told the USMNT’s official Instagram: “Luis Figo… I would say, this is a weird one, but I love Wayne Rooney, and for the last one I’ll go with Clint Dempsey.”

Pulisic is currently plying his trade at Milan after leaving Chelsea for £17 million ($21.6m) and he has impressed in his debut season in Italian football.
