- Winger Sancho falls out with Ten Hag
- Joins Dortmund on loan from Man Utd
- Buys mansion near to United manager
WHAT HAPPENED?
The England international has not played for United since late August after falling out with manager Ten Hag. The former Manchester City academy star then joined BorussiaDortmund on loan in January and reports suggested he would not play for the Red Devils again while Ten Hag was in charge. However, The Sun claims the 24-year-old has ‘splashed out’ on a ‘stunning £3.8 million ($4.8m) house’ just a few minutes away from the Dutchman’s property in Hale, Manchester.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Neither Sancho nor Ten Hag has backed down in their dispute and it remains to be seen if the former will play again for the Red Devils. His form has picked up since returning to BVB, scoring three goals and bagging two assists, while helping them reach the Champions League final. What United’s board decide to do with Ten Hag this summer could determine Sancho’s fate at Old Trafford.
DID YOU KNOW?
United may look to offload Sancho this summer, and recoup as much of the £73m ($93m) they paid Dortmund for him in 2021, as he underwhelmed during his time at Old Trafford. The winger scored just 12 goals and bagged six assists in 82 appearances for United.
WHAT NEXT?
Sancho, whose contract at United runs until the summer of 2026, has just two games left of his Dortmund loan spell. The first is against Darmstadt in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon and the second is the Champions League final at Wembley against Real Madrid on June 1.
