- Goalkeeper has severed ties with Man Utd
- Taking on a new challenge in France
- International colleague has trodden that path
WHAT HAPPENED?
The England goalkeeper has severed ties with Manchester United after reaching the end of her contract. She savoured FA Cup glory with the Red Devils in 2023-24, but has taken the decision to embrace an entirely new challenge in France.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
International team-mate Bronze knows all about treading that path, having stepped out of her comfort zone on a couple of occasions. She is currently in the process of bidding farewell to Catalan giants Barcelona, after another Champions League triumph, and has previously spent three years with Lyon.
WHAT BRONZE SAID
Bronze has joked that she is “trying to remember French words to teach Mary Earps”, with a close friend needing all the assistance that she can get. Earps has admitted as much when responding to Bronze by saying: “Help very much welcomed. Duolingo is not cutting it.”
WHAT NEXT FOR EARPS?
Earps will move away from mobile apps to proper teaching as she looks to settle quickly at Paris Saint-Germain. The 31-year-old has expressed her excitement at linking up with a club that will allow her to challenge for major silverware on a regular basis.
