THE BIGGER PICTURE
Summer tournaments are supposed to be about good times and great football, but bad weather will put a dampener on everyone’s spirits. Scotland fans have already seen their pre-match events for Wednesday’s game against Switzerland cancelled due to the rain and other matches could be affected in the next few days.
WHAT NEXT?
There is plenty of rain falling at Signal Iduna Park and the match between Turkey and Georgia could be under threat. The beauty of modern stadiums is that more often than not they can soak up plenty of water without comprising the playing surface. But the torrential scenes in Dortmund, plus reports of fan violence in the stands is leaving a big question mark over the match.
