The newly established Division One professional women’s soccer league will stream games on Peacock
- Peacock and NBCUniversal has obtained match rights
- All 115 regular season and playoff games to be streamed
- USL League Two, W League and USL Youth also part of deal
WHAT HAPPENED?
The USL Super League has found its TV and streaming home, with the inaugural season of the competition set to be available on Peacock. The agreement is set to last multiple years, and will cover all eight clubs.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Super League was granted division one female soccer status earlier this year, and is set to rival the NWSL for women’s soccer competition in the United States. It is under the USL umbrella, which has three divisions of men’s play.
WHAT AMANDA VANDERVORT SAID
USL Super League President Amanda Vandervort expressed her excitement, saying: “We are thrilled to partner with NBCUniversal and Peacock to provide a world-class viewing experience for USL Super League fans across the country. NBC Sports and Peacock have raised the bar for soccer coverage in the United States, and their commitment to the USL Super League is a testament to what we are building.”
WHAT NEXT FOR THE USL SUPER LEAGUE?
Competition is due to start on Aug. 17, and last until May 2025 – with a December break at the midway point of the season.
The inaugural season features eight clubs: Brooklyn FC, Carolina Ascent FC, Dallas Trinity FC, DC Power FC, Fort Lauderdale United FC, Lexington SC, Spokane Zephyr FC, and Tampa Bay Sun FC. Each club will play 14 matches across the first half of the campaign.
