Brazilian wonderkid Endrick has explained why he is inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Real Madrid legend combining “the best of everything”.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Portuguese superstar Ronaldo spent nine memorable years at Santiago Bernabeu between 2009 and 2018 – scoring 450 goals, claiming four Champions League crowns and breaking countless records. Endrick is now preparing to follow in those illustrious footsteps as he completes a move to Spain when turning 18.
WHAT ENDRICK SAID
The teenage sensation has told TyC Sports of why he looks up to Ronaldo: “[He is] an example of a player that combines the best of everything.”
Endrick added on why he believes that he can make a Ronaldo-esque impact with the Blancos, having already shown what he is capable of at Palmeiras: “What I did in Brazil is close to what they are going to demand of me there. I looked at many Real Madrid matches and also analysis.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
At just 17 years of age, Endrick already has more than 80 appearances at club level to his name and three goals through six senior appearances for his country. He is being likened to iconic figures such as fellow countryman Pele, and said of that big billing: “For me, it’s an honour, although I’m just starting my story. I have no need to complain about it.”
WHAT NEXT?
Endrick is currently away on Copa Americas duty with Brazil, as they look to chase down continental glory in the United States. He will celebrate a notable birthday on July 21, at which point he will be cleared to link up with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu.
