Man United 'lose talented teenager on a FREE transfer after he snubs a new deal'

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to let Omari Forson leave the club, with the youngster set to move to Monza this summer

The 19-year-old forward is out of contract at the end of the month, and United had hoped to secure a new long-term deal with the player.

However, after more than six months worth of negotiations, Fabrizio Romano has said that he turned down United’s offer in favour of a new experience in Serie A.

Forson is said to be in Italy and is expected to sign for Monza on a four-year deal until June 2028.

The move is a blow to Erik ten Hag’s side, who gave the highly-rated teen his first-team debut last season.

After being included in United’s squad for their pre-season tour last summer, Forson made bow for the club in the FA Cup win over Wigan in January.

Later that month he made his Premier League debut, when he came off the bench in their clash against Wolves. Becoming the 249th academy player to make a first-team appearance.

Forson made an instant impression on proceedings, setting up the winning goal for Kobbie Mainoo in the 4-3 victory at Molineux.

He then made his full debut in the 2-1 home defeat to Fulham the following month.

In all, he made seven appearances across the season, including a cameo in United’s FA Cup Semi-final win over Coventry at Wembley.

He didn’t make the squad for the FA Cup Final win over Manchester City, but the club were keen to further his development next season.

Ten Hag had made clear there is a pathway for the club’s young players to make it into the first-team, but there are still uncertainty around his future heading into next season.

United’s new minority owners, were set for a meeting following the FA Cup triumph to review the managerial options, but nearly three weeks on, the situation is unclear.

Thomas Tuchel had been linked with the job, but now seems to be out of the running, leaving Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Frank as possible frontrunners if Ten Hag is relieved of his post.
