- Kane sends message ahead of Euro 2024
- Preparing for ‘big summer’ with Three Lions
- England head into Euros as one of the favorites
WHAT HAPPENED?
Kane’s scintillating form this season with Bayern Munich went by for almost nothing as the Bavarians lost out on the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen for the first time since 2011 and ended their season trophyless. The England striker is still on the hunt for his first major trophy as he leads Gareth Southgate’s side into the European Championship and he will have another chance to win his first piece of silverware in Germany.
WHAT KANE SAID
As he joined the Three Lions camp, Kane shared photos on X and captioned his post: “Big summer ahead”.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kane suffered an injury towards the end of the season with Bayern and the striker was unable to break the Bundesliga record for the most goals scored in a season, set by Robert Lewandowski in 2021. The Three Lions captain did, however, win the Bundesliga’s top scorer award and the European Golden Shoe with 36 goals ahead of Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy.
WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?
The Bayern Munich will now lead the Three Lions against Bosnia-Herzegovina in a preparatory friendly at St. James’ Park on June 3. Four days later, they will take on Iceland in their last game before the beginning of the tournament.
