WHAT HAPPENED?

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Cleworth has emerged as another bright spark in North Wales, after stepping out of Wrexham’s academy system, but it is the likes of prolific frontman Mullin, goal-scoring playmaker Lee and hard-working midfielder Cannon that continue to dominate the headlines.

WHAT CLEWORTH SAID

Asked to pick from that trio when it comes to buying, benching and moving on, Cleworth told the Fearless in Devotion podcast: “You have got to buy Mulls for his goals, haven’t you? He’s scored 100 goals in two-and-a-bit years – pretty impressive! I’ll buy Mulls. You are probably going to bring El off the bench over Andy, although Andy has scored a few. If Andy was listening he’d probably tell us he is worth 100 million, so we’d better sell him! We’ll bench El and sell Andy for 100 million. We’ll get a bit of money!”

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Wrexham are under no pressure to sell at present, as Reynolds and McElhenney dip into their own pockets and put more commercial partnerships in place, with collective focus locked on acquiring more top talent in the summer transfer window as the Red Dragons ready themselves for life in League One.
