Foden enjoyed a rich vein of form for the Cityzens in the current season having scored 27 goals across all competitions and provided 11 assists. He played a key role in his club lifting their record fourth consecutive Premier League title and was handed theĀ Premier League Player of the Season award.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, on Tuesday, named the 23-year-old in hisĀ 33-man preliminary squad for the upcoming 2024 and later revealed how he plans to use the best player in England in his team in the flagship continental competition.
WHAT GARETH SOUTHGATE SAID
Speaking to reporters, the England manager said, “The key with Phil [Foden] is where he ends up, not his starting position. He’s been allowed to drift for Manchester City. It’s where these players arrive and where they are allowed to drift to. We never pin these forwards to the touchline. There is this freedom. He has stepped up in big games, you want him in those central areas.”
