WHAT HAPPENED?
After McKennie’s Juventus side beat Atalanta 1-0 to lift the Coppa Italia this week, footage has since emerged of the United States international celebrating with internet sensations, the Pointer Brothers – who are known for their comic dances and skits. And it is clear they get along royally as they came to congratulate McKennie at Stadio Olimpico, where they were involved in a humorous video.

WHAT WESTON MCKENNIE SAID
In the clip, McKennie says: “Bro, I am not happy we won,” followed by all three sheepishly looking at the camera and then breaking into laughter in a cheery embrace. When the brothers posted this video, McKennie commented, “Legends.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
By their lofty standards, Juventus have had a poor season. They were banned from European competition and saw their Serie A title charge fall off a cliff, but this Coppa Italia win somewhat salvages their 2023/24 campaign. And McKennie, who is out of contract in 2025, has played an important part in the Old Lady lifting some silverware this term.
WHAT NEXT?
McKennie, who has been involved in a lengthy contract saga this season over his Juventus future, is likely to feature for the Italian giants in their next Serie A match against Bologna on Monday, before rounding off the season at home to Monza on May 26.
