THE BIGGER PICTURE

The incident occurred when referee Fabio Maresca did not immediately call a foul for a push on Juventus defender Danilo in the penalty area. In a fit of rage, Allegri tore off his jacket and furiously screamed at the fourth official. His actions earned him a red card, leading to his dismissal from the touchline. Not content with simply exiting, Allegri sarcastically applauded Maresca’s decision, removed his tie, and began unbuttoning his shirt. The Juventus coach’s theatrics continued as he shouted “shame on you” and demanded to know “where is Rocchi?” referring to the refereeing designator, into the stands.
