Inter Miami boss Tata Martino delivers statement on potential Keylor Navas summer transfer
  • Miami linked with new goalkeeper
  • Drake Callender been inconsistent
  • Keylor Navas subject of rumors

WHAT HAPPENED?

After their 0-0 draw vs Orlando city Wednesday evening, the Herons boss delivered a few statements in his postgame press conference, but most notably, one on their summer transfer plans.

They’ve been linked with a new goalkeeper, as well as an attacker. One name on that shortlist? Costa Rica legend Keylor Navas.

Keylor-Navas

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 37-year-old is set to be a Free Agent this summer after his deal with PSG in France expires. He’s made just five appearances since the start of the 2023/24 campaign, playing second-string to Gianluigi Donnaruma.

The Tico could rival U.S. International Drake Callender, who has struggled with inconsistency this campaign.

However, Martino was adamant that they’re happy with the shotstopper’s performances of late. Whether or not they bring in another goalkeeper this summer remains to be seen, but Navas is one to watch.

WHAT MARTINO SAID

“There will be several names that will pop up. At this moment we have a couple of months til the window opens, we’re not thinking about that right now.”

Christian Benteke DC United

WHAT NEXT FOR MIAMI?

The Herons are back in action this weekend against D.C. United as they look to remain unbeaten across six league matches. Meanwhile, it will be a battle for the Golden Boot as both Luis Suarez and Christian Benteke square off.
