The Hollywood megastar is often in attendance to watch the Birmingham-based club and he was not going to miss the night his Villans could qualify for Europe’s top competition. He was filmed heading towards the executive boxes pre-match as the players prepared to take on Jurgen Klopp’s side.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Hanks has endured the good and the bad times as a Villa fan but will be impressed with what he has seen in recent years, especially since Emery took over. The Midlands club only returned to the Premier League in 2019 and are now on the verge of earning their place among the elite teams of Europe next season. They currently sit fourth in the table and can book their place in next season’s Champions League.

Depending on their result against Liverpool, Emery’s men could have their season wrapped up by the end of Monday night. Tottenham must win both of their games to have a chance of catching Villa but it seems unlikely that they will forfeit their advantage to Ange Postecoglou’s men.
