- Bayern wanted Crystal Palace’s Glasner
- Club demanded €100 million in compensation
- Bayern now looking at other options
WHAT HAPPENED?
When the Bavarians asked the Premier League side about Glasner’s availability, the club notified them that they expected a compensation package of €100 million (£86m/$125.5m), as per Bild [via GFNG]. The demand immediately dissolved Der Rekordmeister’s interest in the Austrian manager.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
As per reports, Glasner was keen on making the move to Bayern Munich as he dreams of winning the Champions League. However, the Austrian has now accepted the Palace board’s decision and will fulfil his contract with the club until 2026.
DID YOU KNOW?
Glasner only joined Crystal Palace at the end of February this year taking over from Roy Hodgson. Since then Crystal Palace have only lost thrice in 12 games and also embarrassed Manchester United with a 4-0 win at Selhurst Park.
WHAT NEXT FOR GLASNER?
Crystal Palace and their Austrian manager will end their domestic season when they play host to a Champions League-chasing Aston Villa on May 19.
