WHAT HAPPENED?
The Spain international moved to the Premier League last summer as he joined Brighton on a season-long loan deal. Fati, however, has struggled for minutes in England having appeared in 17 league games in the current campaign, clocking just 494 minutes on the pitch.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The 21-year-old’s campaign with the Seagulls was also disrupted by a serious calf injury that kept him out of action for more than a month. Blaugrana manager Xavi was recently asked about the future of the winger to which the Catalan coach refused to give a conclusive answer.
WHAT XAVI SAID
Speaking to reporters, the 44-year-old said: “Don’t ask me more about the planning. I won’t say names. And I will also talk about those on loan at the end of the season.”
WHAT NEXT FOR ANSU FATI?
The youngster will hope to get some game time in the club’s penultimate game of the season on Wednesday as Roberto De Zerbi’s side take on Chelsea at home.
