- Striker forced off against Whites
- Was able to walk from the field
- Important time for club & country
WHAT HAPPENED?
The 24-year-old striker has enjoyed the most productive campaign of his career in 2023-24. Despite missing several weeks early on through injury, Sargent has posted a personal-best goal return of 16 efforts for the Canaries.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
He has become a key man in their quest to reach the Premier League, while also coming back into contention for regular involvement with the USMNT. Fitness problems prevented him from figuring in their CONCACAF Nations League triumph in March.
DID YOU KNOW?
With the Copa America fast approaching, Sargent has picked up another knock. He was restricted to limited sights of goal during a play-off semi-final first leg clash with Leeds at Carrow Road. His afternoon was cut short in the 84th minute when being replaced by Sydney van Hooijdonk.
WHAT NEXT?
Sargent was able to walk from the field, but was clearly in some discomfort. Ankle issues have been problematic for the hard-working frontman, so he will be hoping to have avoided any setbacks in that area. There has been talk of a move to the top-flight being made this summer if Norwich were to fall short in their bid to reach the big time.
